In 1992, our Cruising South Africa founder, Charles Edward Robbie III, bought the life-long shuttle contract for the then Starlight Cruises from his dear friend Mrs Cassie Perioli and the acquisition was granted by Mr Alan Foggitt of Starlight Cruises.
When Starlight Cruises was taken over by MSC Cruises, we continued as the official contractor to them. We have now safely conveyed more than 1.5 million passengers to cruise ships in Durban and Cape Town without a major incident and we are truly honored and proud of this amazing achievement.

From start to end of our booking, Charles was helpful, efficient and took the time to explain all the details of the booking. When I mistakenly booked a one-way shuttle, he immediately assisting in changing the ticket to a return. The shuttle staff were faultless and the cruise was AMAZING!!! Thank you for adding to my amazing experience.

It is regrettable that you found our services not up to your expectations. However, I would like to reiterate our position on this matter.

1. You clearly did not read the small print on your ticket nor the full document of our terms and conditions via the GR code on your ticket, nor via our website.

2. The MSC ship was delayed by bad weather and arrived approx. 3 hours late into port. This is something that is out of our control. In this regard, you also seemingly did not read the terms and conditions of MSC where it is advised not to book flights very close to the ship’s times.

3. You booked a return shuttle with us. For the return trip, the seats were supplied and available to you upon disembarkation as per our side of the contract, It was your choice not to use them even with my staff assuring you that you would make your flight. Your argument with them took approx. 10 minutes before you left and took an Uber. The arguments you had with my staff at the airport and with myself, took approx. 30 minutes. So you wasted almost 45 minutes arguing instead of rushing to your flight?

4. Refunds – Whether you book a flight, a train, a ship or a shuttle, we all have pretty much the same terms and conditions when it comes to refunds. Your seats that you paid for, were there, and were paid for by us top be used by yourself as transport requires payments upfront for this very reason. It is sad that you refused to understand this. and worked yourself up to a high level.

5. You have made false accusations against us. I was most certainly not rude to you. You were also insulting to my staff without cause.

6. In order to get your refunds, please claim from the included policy from Hollard Insurance.

Pathetic Customer Service!!!!

Charles was extremely rude and unhelpful when the MSC Musica arrived late on return to the Durban harbor due to adverse weather conditions. I had prebooked return shuttle tickets for my family of 4 on the 6th and 9th December 2024 and when the vessel docked later then scheduled, we could not wait up to 45min for the shuttle to fill up before returning to the airport.We would have missed our return flight to JHB. The Cruise SA staff at the harbor said I could request a refund but when speaking to Charles he said there is no process for refunds except if you cancel 14 days before departure. Who on earth knows that on the cruise day bad weather can delay your return. I would never recommend using this service. They will ruin your holiday
