In the 2022-2023 cruise season, we celebrate 30 years of service to the cruise ship industry. During this time we have transported well over 1 million passengers safely and without a major incident, to cruise ships in both Durban and Cape Town.

Airport Private Transfer Services are regulated by the department of transport in South Africa with each vehicle requiring an operating permit by the transport court and every vehicle needs to pass an annual roadworthy test, the drivers need to have a public driving permit with no police record, and the operator needs to ensure a minimum R1 million passenger liability insurance. We ask the question: “How much is a life worth”? To us it is priceless, but what we offer is a whopping R30 million minimum cover which comes at a huge cost, which we include in our shuttle price.

Airport Private Transfer Services should be a seamless connection between the airport and the ship and to ensure that you get there safely we, as responsible operators, employ luggage porters at both the airport and harbour. Why do we say that you may ask? Well if a driver has to load and offload luggage he becomes tired and worn out and the chances of him having an accident are thereby greatly increased so hence we have since the very beginning, always employed luggage porters. We have YOUR safety foremost in our minds.

Airport Private Transfer Services can be done in a multitude of ways. There is the shuttle bus, which leaves usually once every hour from 11am. Then for those who do not wish to wait for the bus, we offer a private transfer service at a cost much higher than the shuttle. We do not permit passengers in wheelchairs to board our shuttle bus and instead we suggest that they make use of our private transport service but that they must have friends or family with them to carry the person in the wheelchair.

Airport Transfers with Cruising South Africa

Cruising South Africa is the official ground transport contractor since 1992.

The cost of a private transfer to/from the airport and to/from the city for the 2023-2024 cruise season is:
A 2 SEATER SEDAN (COROLLA) – R680 PER WAY
A 2 SEATER SEDAN (MERCEDES) – R1600 PER WAY
A 7 SEATER COMBI (VOLKSWAGEN) – R1600 PER WAY
A 13 SEATER COMBI (QUANTUM) – R2450 PER WAY
A 22 SEATER MIDIBUS (MERCEDES) – R3800 PER WAY
A 44, 52 or 60 SEATER LUXURY COACH – R7800 PER WAY

Our airport private transfer services include an Airport Meet and Greet service, A professional Driver with PDP, an Air Conditioner, Fuel, Tolls, a trailer, and Department of Transport Permits. and at least R30 million in Passenger Liability Insurance. It is to be noted that all requests for transfers are subject to the availability of vehicles at the time of booking.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Checking of your travel documents and passports if time permits and only if we still have permission to do so! This shortens your check-in times and if there is a problem you will have time to resolve it.
Free sanitizing stations and all covid 19 protocols adheared to.
Luggage porters to load and offload your luggage at the bus.
Passenger Liability Insurance. Depending on the size of vehicle we
insure your life from R10 million up to R30 million in an accident.
Taxis are required to have R1 million and e-hailing drivers usually have
zero as they operate outside of public transport law.
Peace of mind.
When you travel with us, you are guaranteed to make the ship on time.

DELAYS

We do our best to prevent delays. That said though, we are subject to
instructions from the port authority and MSC Cruises. Flights from
Cape Town are usually delayed. When making to flight reservations
please try to arrive in Durban as early as possible and to leave Durban
as late as possible. Booking a flight home before mid-day is a NO NO!

GROUP TRAVEL

We prefer it when groups travel together as a group.
To this end, we offer coaches with various seating arrangements
from 13 (combi), 22 (sprinter) and 32, 44, 52 and 60 seats in a bus.

REFUNDS

Unfortunately we do not do refunds. We do however, issue a deferred shuttle credit which you may utilize on any future booking.

Airport Transfers Prices are based on a per person sharing rate of R170-00 per way.
Children U5 travel free.

With the new terminal and checking-in regulations by MSC Cruises and NPA, it is very likely that you will experience delays in boarding the shuttle at the airport. This is beyond our control. It is to be noted however, that should you use other transport options to the port, and arrive there prior to the boarding time on your ticket, you will not be allowed to enter! Be warned!

Our airport transfers offer you the following:
1. A R30 million passenger liability cover in the case of an accident.
2. Drivers with a public driving permit.
3. Vehicles that are roadworthy, and DOT permitted to carry fare-paying passengers.
4. Luggage porters at both the airport and harbour.
5. Meet and Greet services at the airport.
6. Pre-cruise check-in at the airport (if requested). Here we make sure that you have everything in place to board the ship and if not you have an opportunity to correct the problem.

Unfortunately, we no longer offer refunds. Instead, we do offer a deferred transfer voucher which may be used on a future cruise booking.
