How booking it all works
A walkthrough on the MSC Cruises booking procedures and us as agents. Start at STEP 1About MeYou want to go on a cruise, but it is all so confusing and that there are so many bad reports out there that you just get so confused and say "next time"? NO! We can guide you through the whole experience 🙂 We have more than 30 years experience in the industry.
STEP #1 – Instructions – Deciding when to travel.
You need to first have an idea as to when you wish to cruise.
The South African MSC Cruises run from the end of November to mid-April every year. They mostly depart from Durban with a few from Cape Town at the end of the season.
Besides Christmas and New Year cruises, there are 2 main itineraries from Durban.
Portuguese Island – From a Friday to a Monday – More Info here:
Pomene Bay – From a Monday to a Friday. – More Info here:
Right! So now you have spoken to the family or friends and figured out who will look after the baby and who will look after Dad and Mum? Best solution is to bring them along! MSC offers a kiddie care center three times a day for 2-3 hours. It is FREE! You will need to register your child at the club on day 1 when you go on board.
You need to understand the pricing structures well because we do not want to see you upset that you were not able to get the full enjoyment on board.
Please study the experiences carefully: CLICK HERE:
You will also need to understand the cabin classes – CLICK HERE:
Ok now let’s move on to STEP #2 where you will ask for a FREE quote.
REMEMBER TO COME BACK TO THIS SCREEN FOR YOUR LESSON IN BOOKING A CABIN!
STEP #1
Congratulations you found us and are taking time to enquire.
We will guide you through the whole process.
STEP #2
After deciding when you wish to travel, this step will take you to a booking form where lots of information about you is requested.
We will guide you through the whole process.
STEP #2 – Instructions – Fill in the Quote Form.
Before you fill in the form, you might want to think about the cabin class that you would like as this will determine the final base cost of your cruise. The breakdown of the cabins and their classes can be found HERE. The various levels of experience are explained HERE. Do not close the form window down as you will need to come back here to continue your booking lessons.
The MSC Agent Booking Portal basically creates a new booking for you which will need to be confirmed within 24 hours after receiving the quote from us. During this process, they require much detail about you and your fellow passengers. Now, please go to the booking form HERE!
Fill in the form supplying all the required details and at the end, click submit.
Our server will send us the details via email and a consultant will look at it and check on availability, get the quote from MSC, and forward it to you. If the consultant requires more information she will email you asking for it.
Please remember that once you receive the quote you need to either ACCEPT it or Decline it by return email to the consultant. Be nice and do this please – they really work hard on your behalf 😛
STEP #3
Instructions – Prices, Deposit, and Payments
Great you have accepted the quote.
The Consultant will send you an invoice.
You will be required to make an IMMEDIATE PAYMENT EFT deposit of R4000 per cabin and use your MSC Booking number as a reference. Please do not pay with cash as the banks take much more service fees and we lose.
It takes up to 1 working day for MSC to confirm the deposit and we will send the final confirmation with a statement to you by email.
You have up to 75 days prior to your cruise departure to make the final payment.
Please do not delay that final payment (we will remind you) otherwise you could lose all monies already paid so please budget ahead.
STEP #3
The quote, The price, The Deposit and The Payments
We will guide you through the whole process.
STEP #4
Legal requirements, Passports, Un-Abridged Birth Certificates, Vaccination Certificates, Visas and a whole lot more.
We will guide you through the whole process.
STEP #4 – Legal, Documents, & Add-On Services.
If your cruise is leaving South Africa, PLEASE ENSURE that your passports are valid and have at least more than 6 months of validity after your return date. Do not be ‘that idiot’ who did not bother to check this along with all the health requirements and kiddie’s documents required as you WILL lose all your money and will not be allowed to cruise! The government is very strict with this.
Now you can also add further add-ons to your bookings like shuttles, drinks, and event packages. Simply send Tash an email with your requests.
If you did not book a cruise through us and wish to book a shuttle you can do it HERE!
Drink, Internet & SPA prices are only advised much closer to the season beginning.
