AIRPORT TRANSFERS & SHUTTLES
In 2022 we celebrate 30 years of service to the cruise ship industry. During this time we have transported well over 1 million passengers safely and without a major incident, to cruise ships in both Durban and Cape Town.
Airport Transfers are regulated by the department of transport in South Africa with each vehicle requiring an operating permit by the transport court and every vehicle needs to pass an annual roadworthy test, the drivers need to have a public driving permit with no police record, and the operator to ensure a minimum R1 million passenger liability insurance. We ask the question: “How much is a life worth”? To us it is priceless, but what we offer is a whopping R30 million cover which comes at a huge cost, which we include in our shuttle price.
Airport Transfers should be a seamless connection between the airport and the ship and to ensure that you get there safely we, as responsible operators, employ luggage porters at both the airport and harbour. Why do we say that you may ask? Well if a driver has to load and offload luggage he becomes tired and worn out and the chances of him having an accident are thereby greatly increased so hence we have since the very beginning, always employed luggage porters. We have YOUR safety foremost in our minds.
Airport Transfers can be done in a multitude of ways. There is the shuttle bus, which leaves usually once every hour. Then for those who do not wish to wait for the bus, we offer a private transfer service at a cost much higher than the shuttle. We do not permit passengers in wheelchairs to board our shuttle bus and instead we suggest that they make use of our dedicated transport service with a wheelchair lift and a dedicated driver who is knowledgeable and caring for the disabled.
The cost of a MSC Shuttle is now
R165 per person one way and
R330 for a return trip.
From the airport buses usually run on the hour every hour from 11h00 to 15h00 which is the last departure.

DELAYS
We do our best to prevent delays. That said though, we are subject to
instructions from the port authority and MSC Cruises. Flights from
Cape Town are usually delayed. When making to flight reservations
please try to arrive in Durban as early as possible and to leave Durban
as late as possible. Booking a flight home before mid-day is a NO NO!
GROUP TRAVEL
We prefer it when groups travel together as a group.
To this end, we offer coaches with various seating arrangements
from 13 (combi), 22 (sprinter) and 32, 44, 52 and 60 seats in a bus.

Prices are per person sharing in twin-share cabin, include discounts, and are subject to availability and rate of exchange changes. Offers above are a guide only and will vary depending on departure date, our guide price is based on the cheapest departure within the stipulated season and availability is correct at time of loading. Covid-19 Vaccination Policy: All Guests (2 years old and over) need to provide a certificate of a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours of the day of embarkation. All Guests (12 years old and over) have to be fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccine with the final dose administered at least 14 days before the cruise departure date. Guests aged 12 – 17, having received a single shot a minimum of 14 days before the date of embarkation, will be accepted as fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated guests (2 years to 11) will additionally have to undergo an antigen lateral flow test at the embarkation port at a cost of R300 per person. Please pre-register for your antigen test https://app.inceptionbio.co.za/register. All vaccinated guests to present original COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card or Digital Government Issued Vaccination Certificate, which must contain: Personal identifiers (at a minimum: full name and date of birth) that match the personal identifiers on the passport, name of official source issuing the record, vaccine manufacturer and date(s) of vaccination. Guests over 18 years old that recovered from Covid-19 and received only one shot of the vaccine are not considered as fully vaccinated.
